[Opinions] Names you forgot about
I’m not sure how’s the best way to phrase this, but are there any names that you forgot existed? For me, it’s Eudora and Moya. I came across both of these recently, and I’m hindsight they were both names that I was pretty familiar with in my childhood, but haven’t thought about in the slightest in years. So, are there any names you have that you forgot about? And what do you think of Eudora and Moya?

Moya is better than Moira, but I don't like it. Eudora is okay. It actually sounds mundane despite being a mythological name - maybe it's because I saw the Top 1000s and associated it with Eunice, Beulah and Euphemia, oldie names like that.I forgot: Royce, Gayla, Iggy, Diggory, Euphemia, Willard, Hall, Dalton, Gayla, Trista, Dallas, Kelty, Celty, Hermione, Justice, Darby, Willam, Vera, and Gil. It would be easier to list names that have never left my mind. I forget most names even if I like them.

Roy is a name I haven’t thought about for years despite it being the name of one of my great grand uncles. I never met him though so maybe not that surprising.

I knew a woman of Finnish heritage by the name of Solveig and an artist named Johanna. I haven't thought about those names for years.

I've never met, heard of or read about Eudora, so I've got no context for it at all. I don't find the sound attractive - not fond of Dora.Moya is difficult: the sound is close to the Afrikaans word 'mooier' which means 'prettier'. I wouldn't expect it to get much use in South Africa, and anyway I much prefer Moira (but not Moyra or Moiragh, both of which I've seen).
