but I still can't help laughing that you are focusing on the lack of description between a dead character and a living character, while there was another segment of similar stature between Charles and his father (as the crackling logs of fire)
so I'm forgoing any other descriptive notes and asking, what did you think of that paragraph? (since you don't have it memorized - as I - I suggest re-reading it)
