As she was looking around herself watching all of the interesting people in the room, Charlotte's gaze caught that of a man nearby who was doing exactly the same. He didn't seem to notice her though, but took a watch on a chain out of his pocket and had a look at it. Charlotte was intrigued by the pocket watch, she had never seen anything like it. Spontaneously, she walked the few steps over to the strange man and asked him, "Why do you have your watch on a chain instead of your wrist?"
