Spencer had to admit that, before he arrived, he thought he would be among the youngest at this party. He had stopped being surprised to see children there, but the three by the bar--clearly siblings, as they were dressed in an identical shade of blue--caught his particular attention. He noticed the look that the bartender gave them, and walked over to the oldest of the children, a girl sitting on one of the stools with an expression on her face that showed that she was not enjoying herself.

"I can't even remember how many times I had to deal with my sister at things like this," he said to her. "I can only imagine what it's like with two."
