Ira smiled hesitantly up at Dylan. "It's just what people at school say," he explained, "Mum and Dad couldn't aff- I mean, they didn't want to send us to school in Bartham Park, so we have to get the bus to the next town over, and the kids there don't like us. But," he added, wearing an unmistakeably woebegone expression, "The kids on our street don't like us because they say we go to a school for 'pikeys'."
