Nikolai nodded, backing away cautiously. He found the door to the kitchen, went in a quickly grabbed a large bag of chips, some brownies for desert, and some baby carrots. Then he walked back to the table.
In retrospect, he figured he could have ditched her, but he knew what it was like to be hungry, so he came back. "I brought some chips and stuff," he said.
