Spencer sighed. "Well, I realize it's extremely rude to talk about something like this to a stranger, but my family is extremely wealthy--I'm extremely wealthy. I don't need the money, I've never really known what it's like to be denied something, and I certainly don't want to just be another privileged, rich person who only cares about keeping those privileges. I know people like that--my roommate, for example--and they're pathetic. I'd hate myself if I were one of them." He paused and took a deep breath before continuing. "Besides, I have the potential to help to change things, and I feel like it would be morally wrong to not really, seriously try. Or... something like that, anyway." He laughed weakly.
