"I've never heard of it, although that doesn't really surprise me. I can get a little out of touch with popular culture." He paused, and let it sink in for a moment that he was about to talk about shipping with a teenager, but of course he had been loudly and enthusiastically playing video games with his friends exactly twenty-four hours ago, so he didn't exactly have any right to pretend to be superior.
"I have two friends, Maya and Caleb, who spent almost all of last year arguing with each other. At the end of the school year, they started dating. With a little help from me and each of their roommates." He very nearly asked her if she ever liked slash ships, but decided against it. Instead, he just said, "They're still together, and have never been more like an old married couple."
