Italy. That explained the slight peculiarity of the man's accent. Spencer nodded as he replied. "Yes, I am from the US. Boston, specifically, although I live near Chicago now. My grandmother was born in London, though, and most of her family still lives somewhere in the UK. I spent a few months in London with my cousins before I started law school. Wonderful city. I'd love to go back soon."

He laughed as he heard his accent become even more anglicized. "I don't usually sound like this. It's just when I'm around people from England. I'm usually much more American." He forced himself to speak in his usual voice on the last few words.
