Spencer was very glad that his wineglass was empty, because he certainly would have been taking a drink when Aurelia told him about Saul's nickname and would have choked on the wine. Instead, he just muttered, "My God..."
He was nearly as surprised when Aurelia told him how long she and Saul had been together. "Is that a normal age for marriage in Ondore? I mean, I'm twenty-five, and it's not surprising that I'm not married yet in America. Actually," he laughed bitterly, "some people would rather I not get married at all, you know. Or do you? How do people feel about two men or two women being together in Ondore?"
