1. What is your full name?

----- Auden Beatrice Emery

2. Do you have any nicknames? If so, what are they? How do you feel about them?

----- Nope. I used to get Audie from my mum when I was little, but I can't stand it, so I made her stop.

3. When were you born? How old are you now?

----- I'll be fourteen next month. I was born in 1998

4. Where were you born? Do you still live there?

------ I was born in London, but I've lived in Wales since I was ten. We live in this really little town... there's really not much going on there

5. How would you describe your body (this includes things like height, weight, build, etc.)?

----- Ok. Um. Bit of a weird question. I'm kind of short, and kind of pale and puny. I look like a boy. It's awful. Everyone always thinks I'm a kid... which I suppose I am, but still... this girl in my class, Abbie-Jayde, can get into nightclubs and everything. Everyone thinks she's about eighteen or something. It isn't fair. Not that I'd actually want to go to nightclubs, or anything, but, you know...

6. What color is your hair? How is it styled?

----- It's brown and not exactly curly, but not straight either...wavy, I suppose. It's quite long, and Mum's always nagging me to tie it back for school

7. What color are your eyes?

----- They're a kind of light brownish colour

8. Describe your skin/complexion.

----- Quite pale, but not in an interesting, vampirey sort of way. More in a way that makes everyone think I look ill

9. What about your hands?

----- I have really little hands. Maybe that's why I was never any good at piano (I had lessons once, but I stopped after a bit)

10. Do you have any scars and/or physical handicaps?

----- No.

11. Describe your family. How do you feel about them? Are you close to them?

----- Not really. I mean, kind of. My mother's very sort of superficial, I think. And she's a bit dippy. My brother Ira's a bit of a wimp, and he thinks he's a lot more interesting than he actually is. I feel kind of sorry for him, really. And Fox is okay. She's my younger sister. But everyone likes her, so she doesn't need my approval too, does she? Basically, I can't wait to leave home and get away from them all, but if there was a fire or something, and I had to save them, of course I would.

12. Do you have a best friend? If so, who is it? What is he/she like?

----- Yeah, his name's Hadrian. He's a wet blanket, but he's alright, really. He's basically the only person in my class who isn't ridiculously annoying or shallow or whatnot

13. Who are your other friends? What are they like?

------ Not really. Like I said, it's kind of difficult for me to find people who don't do my head in

14. What about other acquaintances? How do you feel about them? How often do you interact with them?

----- Mum makes me go to a book club for "young people" and I get on okay with everyone there, but I'm not exactly friends with them. I usually sit next to this girl called Poppy. She's a bit childish, but she's nice to me, I suppose, so she's all right

15. What makes you laugh? How would you describe your sense of humor?

----- Mum says I don't have a sense of humour, and Ira said he agrees with her, but I do. I just don't laugh at stupid things. I laugh at things that are actually funny. You know. Witty. Like really good insults, and things like that. Only good ones, mind you.

16. What are your ambitions? Which is most important?

------ I want to be a news reporter. I'd get to travel to all different parts of the world and see loads of new things. It would be kind of perfect, because I love learning new things, but I hate being stuck behind a desk. And I don't want to get married. Ever. Oh, and I want to move back to London to live. I suppose the most important thing is that I want to be good at whatever I end up doing, Mum always says it's okay not to be good at something as long as you enjoy it, but I happen to disagree. I think there's no point in doing something if you can't do it well.

17. How would you describe your philosophy of life?

----- I'm not sure if I really have a philosophy of life... maybe it's what I just said; that you have to try and be the best you can. Otherwise you're kind of wasting yourself.

18. Do you have any hobbies? What are they?

----- I like to read. I'll read almost anything, except for comics and slushy romance books. I think books for adults are much more interesting than children's books. And I like puzzles...not the code-cracking type that Ira likes to do, but crosswords and things like that. Oh, and I like pinball. I'm good at it - I always used to beat Dad. And air-hockey, stuff like that - Dad said I have quick reflexes...

19. What kind of music do you like? Books? Other forms of entertainment?

------ I like electro music, stuff with a lot of synth. Especially '80s music. I like Soft Cell and things like that. And I quite like rock music, but not the really screamy kind. Like I said, I read pretty much everything, and I don't really watch much television. Ira and I watch CSI and Bones even though Mum say's they're "not suitable for kids" (which is stupid; I'm nearly fourteen, like I said). We always race to see who will figure out the killer first.

20. Describe the way you dress. Do you like it, or do you wish you dressed differently?

----- Right now I'm just wearing dark blue jeans, a grey long-sleeved t-shirt and black boots that Mum says are "clumpy". I dress kind of plain and dark, I suppose. And if I wished I dressed differently, don't you think I'd have just dressed differently in the first place? What a stupid question.

21. What is your favorite color?

----- I don't have one. But I hate yellow.

22. What is usually in your pockets/purse/wallet/sack/etc.?

----- I usually just take my school rucksack everywhere with me, so it's full of books and things like that. I always have a packet of mints and Dad's copy of "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde", which was - is - his favourite book. It has loads of notes in the margins.

23. What is your favorite food?

----- Nachos with loads of guacamole

24. Do you have any allergies?

----- Penicillin. And nuts. And chocolate. And dogs, but not cats for some reason.

25. Name the first five possessions of yours that come into your head.

----- The silver watch Mum and Dad got me for Christmas; my laptop, which is second-hand and doesn't really work that well; my mp3 player; my black duffel coat; my blue lamp which makes my whole room look as if it's under-water

26. What is your most treasured possession? (It's fine if it's on the list above)

------ Dad's Jekyll and Hyde book

27. What is your educational background?

----- I went to school in London, first. It was quite a big school - there were forty-one kids just in my class. It was an okay school, I suppose. Then I went to this tiny school in Wales for about a year until I had to go to high school. The school I'm at now is in the next town over from the one where we live, and it's awful. I hate everything about it - the kids... the teachers... the lessons. I'd rather be home-schooled, and that's saying something.

28. What do you do for a living? What other jobs have you had, if any?

----- I'm thirteen. I don't have any jobs, obviously.

29. Do you have any enemies? Who? Why are they your enemies?

----- Enemies is kind of a melodramatic word. I don't like that many people, and not that many people like me, either, but I don't have any enemies.

30. Describe your home. What do you like about it? What do you dislike?

----- Our house is in a nice part of the town, but it's quite little and kind of messy. I have to share a room with Fox, which is irritating because she goes to bed before I do, and I end up having to go and sit in the living room with Mum. Ira gets his own room, since he's the only boy and all that. Our back garden's nice, it has this big tree at the bottom that I sometimes climb to get away from everyone, because Ira's too scared to climb up and Fox is too young. I'm not mad on the living room in our house - it's dark and it never seems to be warm, no matter how long you have the heating on for. Our house is both old and quite new - it's quite new to us, because we've only lived there three and a half years. But it's also old; it was built at the end of the Victorian era, Dad said. Only it doesn't feel very Victorian to me. I can't imagine Miss Havisham sitting in our poky kitchen - not that Miss Havisham ever spent very much time in kitchens, but you know what I mean.

31. What do you consider your best character trait?

----- I'm quite determined, I suppose. And I'm a perfectionist.

32. Your worst character trait?

----- I need to be more tolerant of people - or that's what everyone tells me, anyway. Honestly, I think it's everyone else who needs to stop being so irritating.

33. How do you see yourself?

----- I'd like to think I'm smart. I know I'm not very good at listening to people. I'm not a coward like Ira, but I wouldn't say I'm particularly brave either. I think I'm quite unremarkable, but I sometimes wish I wasn't

34. How do others see you?

----- Disagreeable and touchy, probably. And skinny and puny. And a bunch of other adjectives that aren't particularly nice. And you wonder why I don't like people.

35. What is your favorite childhood memory?

----- We all went to this castle once, when I was about Ira's age - it wasn't that long after we moved to Wales. It was one of those places where the castle isn't in ruins and you can go inside. The Victorians had lived in it, and Dad wanted to visit, because he loved the Victorians. I mean, he loves them. He still does. Anyway, so we went round this castle, and it was really interesting - I kept dawdling and reading all the information boards. And then we had a picnic in the grounds, and flew a kite. It was one of those days that make you feel like a character in a story, and those are the best kind.
