At that time, however, a man walked over and addressed the child. Vincente's ears pricked up immediately, and his eyes went back to his usual habit of people-scanning. Several passing similarities identified the two of them as related, most likely father and daughter, and the way the man interacted with her corroborated the hypothesis. Presently, the man introduced himself as Dylan Brady, and Vincente found himself shaking the man's hand.

"Vincente Jarvis; likewise. And," his eyes darted over to look at the girl, not without a mischievous sparkle, "she's more than just curious - I'd say she's rather clever, actually. May I have the pleasure of your acquaintance, young lady?"
