I'm filling this out using the same characters I've been using. And because I'm being a lazy butt, they're filling this out together. Keep in mind they come from a fantasy type setting so some of their answers are probably gonna be weird. And they're weird so that'd be another contributing factor haha. So this is two separate surveys that I'm just filling out at once.
1. What is your full name?
Aurelia Cervarro Sadine, Cervarro is my maiden name and Sadine is my married name.
2. Do you have any nicknames? If so, what are they? How do you feel about them?
Does 'ambassador' count as a nickname? I mean its a title but people call me that more than my own name.
I have a nickname, but I do not know what it is. Aurelia knows but she will not tell me. Makes me think it is... insulting in nature.
3. When were you born? How old are you now?
I was born in the winter, and I am twenty-eight.
Spring, and thirty.
4. Where were you born? Do you still live there?
I was born at home, where my home was a rather lovely palace. I do not live there now though. I live a much... simpler life.
On a road. My mother was trying to get back to our hut but she did not make it. And I do not live in the hut anymore.
5. How would you describe your body (this includes things like height, weight, build, etc.)?
Average height for a woman, I am smallish in weight but athletic.
I am tall for my people, but somewhat average for the rest of the world. And given my lifestyle, where much of my time is spent in physical training, I am fit.
6. What color is your hair? How is it styled?
Very dark brown. It's curly and I often keep it in elaborate styles using braids.
Black, long and kept up in a ponytail.
7. What color are your eyes?
Copper, like all my people.
8. Describe your skin/complexion.
Olive, my skin is not dark but neither is it fair. Somewhere in between, but appropriately colored for someone with hair as dark as mine.
Dark. I am not as dark as man can get, but I do not burn when I spend time in the sun.
9. What about your hands?
They are small, normal I suppose except for the corruption. It is turning my hands black starting with the finger tips. My nails have become somewhat longer and more claw-like than they were before.
Rough, they are worker's hands. But, they are not special in any way.
10. Do you have any scars and/or physical handicaps?
They are not scars per say. But corruption is a physical manifestation of the presence of magic within a body. My eyes are slowly turning orange, then there is what is happening to my hands. I have noticed my teeth are sharpening and in some places on my body I have small translucent scales.
I have scars from battle, for being a pirate. A large one down my back that I nearly died getting. I suppose there are scars all over my body. And then of course I would consider the antlers that popped out of my head when I was fourteen due to corruption that causes me to have to duck my me head any time I want to walk in a doorway of normal height. It is frustrating, no?
11. Describe your family. How do you feel about them? Are you close to them?
There is my father, Cesare, my sisters Ilithyia, Orianna, Lucretzia and Fillipa, as well as my brother Ezio. My mother died years ago, she and I were close. After that, things became difficult with my family. I eventually left and only remain close with Orianna. I feel very… complicated about the rest of them. I married my husband and we have two children, Nelea and Eli, as we are all very close as a family.
I am close with my sister Ette and my mother Nelea. But my father passed away at sea in a storm ten years ago. He and I were not close but it was a loss nonetheless. Then of course, there is my wife and my children, whom I love very much. Then there is my mentor Eli, he is not my blood family, but he is family.
12. Do you have a best friend? If so, who is it? What is he/she like?
Aside from my husband I have Silas. He is so many wonderful things, kind, gentle, warm, a good parent. But he is also incredibly strong; there are no ups or downs that rattle him too much. It’s a trait I appreciate, I know I am more easily rattled and he can always bring me back down.
Logan and Baal. Baal discovered me so to speak. The reason my life is the way it is now, is because of him and we are very good friends for it, despite out differences. He is quiet and reserved whereas I am… not. Logan has been my best friend since I was eleven years old. We argue all the time, and differ on all our opinions, but there is a closeness there.
13. Who are your other friends? What are they like?
There is Logan and Baal, and I suppose Deirick and Eleri. Deirick is loud and always drunk and he loves women, as many of them as he can get. A big, hairy man he can be violent often but he’s wonderful company at a tavern. Then Eleri is Logan’s woman. She is nice enough and is always with us. Though she is shy and weak, but if Logan feels something special for her then I do not object.
Other than those mentioned by my wife are Halim and Nasir. When I worked the boats, they were on the same ship as me and we became good friends. I have not seen Halim in many years, from what Nasir tells me he became something of a drunk. But Nasir and I get along as if we were the same person.
14. What about other acquaintances? How do you feel about them? How often do you interact with them?
I have so many acquaintances it’s hard to keep track of them all. As an ambassador, I know many, many people. And am thus acquainted and associated with them. Politics can be difficult and there are many of my colleagues who I do not like. But for the most part we get along, though I suppose it becomes a necessity when I see them for more than half the year every year.
There are the people in the Tower, where we live now. And I am friendly with them all; naturally I see them every day. But I do not interact with them often, so many of the people I know have grown up and taken on responsibilities, created families and other such things that take our time away from becoming too friendly. The friends I have know are only so because we have been that way since we all met each other.
15. What makes you laugh? How would you describe your sense of humor?
My husband. He really enjoys making other people laugh and sometimes his actions are so ludicrous that I cannot help myself. I have a dryer sense of humor than he but he still manages to make me laugh daily with his antics.
Just about everything makes me laugh. I can find humor in anything, but I do get a particular pleasure out of making myself laugh.
16. What are your ambitions? Which is most important?
I think I have few for my own personal self. I’ve never been particularly ambitious, nor have a lead a life that I feel needs to be better. But I do have ambitions that my children will grow up happy and healthy and that perhaps one day, mages will thought of as equal. We are treated as equals which is a far cry from a few decades ago, but we are not thought equal. I would hope the minds of people change within my lifetime. But those for my children are most important as personal thoughts can be kept private.
For my children I want all good things. For my students I want them to become strong and able and talented. And for my mother, I wish her to escape a life of poverty that neither my sister nor I can release her from in our positions. My mother would be the most immediate one as she is in poor health.
17. How would you describe your philosophy of life?
I’ve never thought of it. I suppose it’s to just live as freely and as pleasantly as you can.
My philosophy on life revolves around making the most of the four F’s. Which are fighting, feeding, fleeing and making love.
18. Do you have any hobbies? What are they?
Clothes, I love fine clothes. And I love beautiful hair. Thought it’s hard to say if enjoying looking nice is a hobby. I do like training though, there’s just nothing like the feeling of going toe to toe with someone who is your equal in every way.
In the past my hobby was most certainly to get into the bed of everyone I could. Men, women, it did not matter. Now that I am happily married my only hobby is to torture my poor students with grueling training exercises. Though, undoubtedly they will thank me for it later when it makes them better and more effective mages.
19. What kind of music do you like? Books? Other forms of entertainment?
I like traditional Trezian music, but the word traditional is not necessarily correct. Its not instrumental verses or poems by bards. It’s a music meant to make to make you feel. There are drums and haunting vocal and dancing, it is music that makes you feel like. And I primarily only read law books and of course I enjoy other less… practical forms of entertainment.
I like whatever music is around me generally. I do not read but I do not think there is any form of entertainment better than sex.
20. Describe the way you dress. Do you like it, or do you wish you dressed differently?
I love the way I dress. I do so very carefully and have numerous outfits for when I have my ambassadorial duties as well as more casual clothes. I generally wear a pair of sandals with many straps, and if it is a dress it will be made of light, flowy fabrics that show of my skin. If I am in pants, they are simple pants that end under my knees with a flowing blouse. Though I do wear something metal or armor-like daily.
I wear pants, usually with boots and without a shirt if I can. And I neither like nor dislike the way I dress. There are not many more options in ways of dressing for me.
21. What is your favorite color?
Metallic colors. Golds, silvers, pewter and copper.
The green of the grass. The blue of the skies. They greys of the rocks. I enjoy the colors of nature.
22. What is usually in your pockets/purse/wallet/sack/etc.?
I carry a small holster on my hips when wearing pants, and a smaller one under my dresses. In it are usually dangerous things, poisons, small throwing weapons and antidotes mostly. And I carry a dagger with me at all times, though I’ve had little reason to use it for many years.
I carry a sword when I have to. But other than that, I carry nothing else around.
23. What is your favorite food?
Pie, any kind of pie. All pie, I love pie.
Sausage. And after the last one of these I did where I dug myself into a hole trying to sound dirty, I am saying nothing more the subject. It is delicious and tasty and that is all.
24. Do you have any allergies?
Does poison count? Because if it does then I am surely allergic to poisons.
25. Name the first five possessions of yours that come into your head.
My cream dress, my mother’s hand mirror, my favourite piece of copper neck armor, a beautiful cobalt blue dress and sandals.
Pants, boots, swords, body and father’s necklace.
26. What is your most treasured possession? (It's fine if it's on the list above)
A pair of dark brown leather boots that I’ve had for some twelve years now. They look very good on me, especially with nothing else on.
My wife. She is not a possession, I do not own her. But she is mine and she is treasured more than anything. The children are a close second but I have known my wife longer so by default she wins.
27. What is your educational background?
I was educated by some of the most renowned scholars and then when I left home I was trained and educated by some of the most formidable mages ever to exist. My education and training with the mages has taught me more than I ever learned sitting in a room with a scholar who had never been outside in the world.
My mother trained me in healing magic, then I learned from my mentor Eli how to control the tides and the weather. And finally I came to the Tower and learned much, much more from the mages.
28. What do you do for a living? What other jobs have you had, if any?
As am ambassador I ‘promote good relations between nations’ which is a nice way to say I argue with kings and queens and other ambassadors until we can come to an agreement that we are both unhappy with, as the best compromises leave both parties feeling cheated. I have been a soldier and an instructor, as well as a spy.
I was a magehand for a pirate ship, then I cam to the tower and was charged with recruiting other mages. Then the war happened and I became a soldier, since then I have been a simple instructor, teaching the next generation of mages how to utilize their talents.
29. Do you have any enemies? Who? Why are they your enemies?
Oh dear… I’m sure I do. But we politicians are a sneaky bunch and so if anybody is a true enemy to me, I do not know it. I know there are people who dislike me and who I dislike but such blatant hatred does not make for good enemies. If you were to try and assassinate such a person and they lived, they would know it was you if you were declared as enemies. No, I am sure I have enemies but like me, they prefer to keep their disdain hidden in the shadows.
No enemies. Though I am sure I have made many people dislike me after ending our love affairs rather abruptly.
30. Describe your home. What do you like about it? What do you dislike?
It is a simple home, supplied to us by our superiors. The rooms, all fairly well furnished. I like that it allows for space and privacy, but since our daughter was born four years ago, it has been a little cramped.
It is like any other. I neither like nor dislike anything about it. The physicality of a place does not make it home for me. My home is with my friends and family. Spending a great deal of time away from your loved ones will give you an appreciation for their mere presence instead of a house.
31. What do you consider your best character trait?
My logical mind. It’s gotten me very far in life. I could not have been a good instructor or soldier or spy or ambassador without it. Nor could I be a satisfactory parent or wife or friend. Having keen intelligence makes the world a much clearer and easier place to function in.
I believe my charm is the best of my traits. I have a winning smile, kind eyes, and a warm face. It makes people trust me, not always to their benefit. But it makes me kind as well. And I do appreciate kindness.
32. Your worst character trait?\
I am stubborn as a mule sometimes. Bullheaded in fact. There are times when I know that I am being foolish and wrong, but I cannot bring myself to remedy it. I suppose then that that is pride. I have too much pride.
My charm is as much a good trait as it is a bad one. It gets into trouble, which it also gets me out of but without the charm I would not get into trouble where I need to use my charm to get out of the trouble that my charm got me into in the first place. Do you understand?
33. How do you see yourself?
What an odd question… I see myself as me. I am Aurelia, a mother, a wife, a friend, an ambassador, and a powerful mage. I am more than what a few short words can say.
How do I see myself? Perhaps in too good a light. I see myself as wonderful in most aspects of my life. I am told this is cockiness but I known no other way to be.
34. How do others see you?
Probably as frightening haha! I am not the kind of woman who will be crossed, and I’ve developed somewhat of a reputation among my colleagues as a bit of a spitfire.
As a lech most likely. Which I certainly was for a long time. And which I can still sometimes be because my wife is a very lenient woman. I can look and I can flirt all I want, but I cannot touch.
35. What is your favorite childhood memory?
I was thirteen but I remember the first time I came to the Tower. It was massive and intimidating but I immediately felt at home. And I had not felt at home anywhere for a long time. It was so soothing to look upon the place and know, that I was where I belonged.
I was a pirate at the time, nine years old. There was a strong storm that surely would have sent us all to our watery graves. And I was good with the magic, I was able to keep our boat afloat and keep the elements from getting at it for the most part. But a wave larger than I have ever seen soon rose up in front of us. I knew I could not save us from it on my own. But I tried and when I saw that we were not filling with water or capsizing I looked to my side and saw my mentor and my good friend using their own magic to help. The three of us insured that our boat would be safe, and it was. And when they storm ended and clear skies returned, I felt so accomplished. I felt part of something bigger, part of a team.
