Beyond the obvious in that we would not have met each other, never come to the tower and never have had any of the friends or family that we do now, our lives would still be very different. Before I left my family, I was betrothed for my cousin or second cousin or something like that. We would have married and had children. As the firstborn I would have taken my father's place as queen of my little country-nation (which is not nearly as wonderful as it sounds), though our nation elects its leaders, favor is always given to the firstborn child. I think that my life would have been... much less complicated if I was not a mage. I also probably would have been assassinated by now. Its actually somewhat of a miracle that my father has escaped as many attempts as he has. My country has a history of assassinating its leaders when it gets bored. And then if nobody wants to run for king or queen, they start assassinating people they think should run until someone does. Very patriotic my nation is. And I would still have been a fisherman. I grew up a fisherman's son, I just happened to have magic. Where I am from most of the people work with the sea. But I do not think I would have come out of my shell. I was an overly miserable child and would have stayed that way if becoming a pirate, which was only possible because I had magic, hadn't forced me to stop being so sullen.
