I'm not sure either, actually. He might try playing up the English side of his bloodline (after all, at least in the 2010s canon, he is a neutralised Brit). But, I've a feeling he still wouldn't get away easily with his heritage. If he'd to try serving in the war for one reason or another, he might be used as some sort of translator, perhaps? I'm not sure; my knowledge of the world wars, both of them, are a bit limited.
