Not discontent with a particular person or situation. I guess what I mean is, the idea that any woman living in a different time period or culture who doesn't have the same expectations/opportunities/benefits that women in the Western world have today must by default be miserable and discontent. It doesn't work that way. Same as the assumption that everybody living in a third-world country is miserable and wants to go live someplace else.
