"I know how difficult this must be," says the woman. Brisk. Even. Persistent. "You might feel as though you are somehow giving up, in coming here; waving a white flag. Or you might feel that you don't really want to talk about what's troubling you." She pauses for a second. "But regardless of that, you are here. So lets try to make the best of it, shall we?"
She carries on with her hard-soft stare, waiting.
