The doctor moved his head. It might have been a nod, or simply a downward tilt. His hands were now on the arms of his chair; now in his lap. Now folded; now resting on his knees. He was restive - either bored or nervous; probably the latter. Either way, it was apparent that he would rather have been somewhere else.

"The first dream; that's indicative, of course, of sexual desire, but also of a need to be protected; to be...mothered, if you will. The fact that you were still a man in your dream suggests emphasis on the former." He thought for a moment, then went on. "The ship is more problematic. It suggests transience, but whether a need for or a resistance to it, I could not say. Were the waters calm, in this dream?"
