Ha ha ha. Oh, gosh. Yes, Kevin is Josh's brother. XD The reason I find this so funny is because I know exactly what Kevin's thinking, and he's just like, "Uhh..." He is slightly creeped out by it, as it is, but is very proud of his younger brother for stepping up to the plate and taking responsibility of the situation.
As for Melody, she's... umm... Kinda jealous. 0.0 Okay, okay. Hear me out when I say this! Melody and Josh used to date, so it's like really awkward for her to have like a great-niece whatever be her ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend. She's very good at hiding this, though. Especially with a new baby to take care of. (This makes Josh a zero on her priority list.)
Also, I had no idea about that line in that book! I've never even heard of it. But I really hate the Preface as it is, and will probably end up deleting it altogether once I get to the final draft that'll be ready to publish.
