Klundtacular, you put my thought into words so much better! But, yes, it's okay to have characters who think certain things, but the way you wrote it, it made it sound like it was your opinions straight off. Showing that other characters disagree/agree for different reasons will definitely add depth.

I also agree that there are more creative ways to describe looks.
