I don't know what country it is set in or anything... but I'm from Australia, and I can't imagine it being much different.
That kind of guys strikes at as the kind of person who maybe didn't know what he wanted to do, but went to uni because his parents or teachers expected him to, and started off with an Arts Degree, majoring in something like philosophy or psychology or English Literature... Maybe towards the end he decided. He could have become a teacher, and done his teaching study afterwards, or someone suggested social worker, maybe he could work in the school in the youth/wellbeing?
