Neither my first name nor my middle name are common. Instead of Kirsten Rae I continually get:
Kristen/ Kristin
Kiersten
Kristine/ Christine
Kristina/ Cristina/ Christina
Christian
Katherine/ Catherine
Carson
and on the rare occasion people do realize it is Kirsten, they inevitably mispronounce it.

Ray/ Raye
Rain/ Raine
Rachel

A person should have a common and pronounceable name that they can use to order a pizza in their own name. (This is like my goal in life)

But I grew up in the Ashley/ Amanda/ Sarah generation. I know three women named Sarah Elizabeth from my graduating class of 300 students. They were fighting over nicknames to differentiate themselves.
