Roberta
Always thought it was horrible but I met super beautiful and nice Roberta who is in her early 30s. So I kind of like it now. Only problem: the nicknames. Bobby, Bertie, Bert, Robbie? Ugh. Opinions on Roberta?

I was at school with sisters named Josephine and Roberta, nns Jody and Bert. That showed me that both names would be safest in the mn position, so that their genuinely beautiful and distinctive nature could be appreciated and their unappealing nns need never happen.

I love Roberta! It's so starchy and no-nonsense. I like Piccadilly's suggestion of Birdie as a nickname.

I kinda like it... better than Robert... maybe because it's less common. I don't mind Robbi as a nn for it.My combo for it is Minami Roberta.

I love Roberta! If I were to ever use it my daughter would have the nickname Birdie. I think it's cute, a bit whimsical and much prettier than Bertie.

Ro like in Rose can be a good nickname!

In Italy it's a young(ish) and not very common name. But I know it can be considered a bit dowdy in English. And I know what you mean about liking more a name because of a person.

I like Roberta. Have you considered Robin as a nickname?

the "bert" sound is a bit rough for my tastes but overall it isn't terrible. I think Robbie is probably the best nickname or Bobby.

My mum's nameAlthough she has always went by Ruby! My prefered nickname is Bobbi, I also like that as a full name but then again I love Billie on her own

My mom and aunt are identical twins, with my mom being named Rebecca and my aunt Roberta. They go by the nicknames Becky and Bobbie. As far as opinions go, my aunt hates her real name! Her nickname sort of eclipses it. Most people know her better as Bobbie, even formally.
