It's one of those names that probably won't make my own personal favorites list, but I do like it. It's pleasant, tasteful, and I bet it would be beautiful in the right combo.
I agree with it having mainstream recognition. I knew sisters
Anna and
Astrid when I was growing up. They were Japanese American girls and I never had the impression that there was something incongruous about the name appearing on a non-Scandinavian person.
