Yvette is nice and I love Aviva (though Evie wouldn't have crossed my mind as a nn), but not feelin' Evelette.
If you called the chilled Aviva and your sister asked, you could simply say you happened to like the name... and that because of her friend, it didn't feel too "out there" to be usable. I happen to really like the name.
