Re: Is finally pregnant, but...
Sybil is a name that until your post I've never given any thought to....So, I looked it up, and it has an awesome meaning! It peaked in popularity in 1919, which puts it in the target range of "due to be recycled." I bet the ones saying it's an old lady name are all over 40 or 50, because to them it would be. But so are Oscar and Millie. But to people of child-bearing age, Sybil is fresh. I'm thinking I really like the name Sybil--it is beautiful, clear, and poetic. Using it will take some courage, but I'm sure you mustered some for Lennon, as well. (A home run name, btw). My only hesitation is that it isn't a superb fit with Lennon. Eva I like but I prefer Eve. Actually, I prefer Maeve, followed by Niamh. But I put all these names in a similar category. Eve is a great fit with Lennon.Aoife is also a wonderful name. But, as with Niamh, there will be spelling and pronunciation issues in the US. Charlotte. Way popular, one of the fastest rising names in 2010. Of all your names, this one is the most stylistically removed from Lennon. (It actually sounds more masculine to me than Lennon).Audie. Way back I knew a woman who called her dd Ottie. Would you consider Ottalie? (That would raise some eyebrows with your family--he he. Maybe soften them up toward Sybil).Beatrix. Also on the rise in a big way. A good fit with Lennon, but it doesn't sound as if you love it enough.Mina. Don't like the "mean" in it. What about Milla or Camilla or Millicent?Celeste. Not sure, I like the suggestions of Celestine and Cecily, though. Lennon & Cecily work really well.Eveny? Ever, Everly, and Everleigh were all on the fastest rising names of 2010. Eveny isn't even as pretty. What about using Flannery instead of Eveny? Lennon & Flannery has some symmetry yet at the same time, some beautiful variation.Coraline? Ione? Xanthe? All would work with Lennon.
