Thoughts on various names by anxiolytics |
Callista - I prefer Calista, but it's a beautiful name, no matter which spelling is used. I do think of Calista Flockhart, but I don't think it's a "one person" name that's off limits to others. I try not to think of that scary icepick Callista Gingrich. Ever.
Catriona/Katrina - If you're in the US, I think Catriona is a needless complication. Katrina is attractive, and I don't think there's any reason not to use it unless you live in an area that was impacted by the hurricane.
Elektra - Eh, this feels like the least usable name here, but I don't totally dislike it. I prefer Elettra.
Tressa - It sounds like a shampoo. The "tress" part is too obvious for me, I guess.
Saskia - My only association is Rembrandt. I like it, and I think it falls into that good zone of names that seem exotic but are still very accessible.
Georgia - Gorgeous. Such a warm, rich name.
India - Oh, India. I love it, but it also makes me uncomfortable. I can understand why it's so often trashed as a Rich White Name, a relic held over from the bad, old, imperialistic ages, but I also see it as a lovely and evocative place name with a decent history of use. I'm conflicted, so it's a GP for me. I'd be happy to meet an India, though.
