Haha! My name is Mara Katherine, my grandfather calls me Mara Kat, and my aunt calls me Mara Jean (not quite sure why).
I prefer my name, but I feel like Mara has too many different pronunciations, (Mare-a, Marr-a Mahr-a, etc.) whereas Maura comes out as one pronunciation most of the time. I pronounce Mara as if it was spelled Marra, and Maura like Morra.
