I think
Melva is fine for a middle name. I mean, it's not my very favorite name or anything, and I probably would advise you to use it as a first name, but it's fine as a middle. I prefer to use family names for middles, so it would be a given for me. And for what it's worth, I don't think the Twilight association is too strong a reference for
Alice. I mean, Renesmee, sure ;) But
Alice was growing in popularity and is on trend with other old lady chic names without Twilight. I love
Alice, if I were you, I'd strongly consider the ol' switcheroo and honor Mom by using
Alice Melva.
