I used to know a guy named Drew. He was geeky and neurotic like woah, but I thought he was cool anyway. Smart guy. I wanted to name our son Drew because I like the name enough. My husband rejected it, maybe because he had been friends with the same Drew I had known. He said we could use Andrew but he would not have called the boy Drew and I did not want us calling our son two different names. I've also seen a couple of young boys around named Drew (no girls). It gave me a less good impression on children, TBH.

Drew for a girl is a GP for me, wouldn't use but like it. Probably because I think Drew Barrymore is sort of a cool character - even if she's not very talented she carries the name in a nice feminine way; and because the sound of it is attractive to me. I love Dr- and oo sounds, on either sex.

I think Dru for Drusilla is okay. I don't think I'd want to be named Drusilla though, and I would rather be Drew than Dru.
