To be honest I think giving a hyphenated surname is also an effective way of making a name sound bad. To each their own, but I have never seen or heard of a hyphenated name that sounded or looked good. I'm really happy I have only one surname. But I hate hyphens in general. To me they look like a minus. But again to each their own. Just a pet peeve :P
