It's cutesy on a girl, and preciously twee on an old woman. It never really sounds honest, to me. It suffers from the word "pose," and from the nearly unusable, archaic / poetic status of the word posy.

I think it'd work as a nickname for Mariposa or maybe Portia. I certainly would not name a child Mariposa or Portia just to get nn Posy.
