My mom's middle name is "Kaye", as well and I'm pretty sure she told me once that it was just the letter "K", but she changed it to "Kaye" later on... I wonder why one would have their child's middle name as just a letter, "K" in particular... Hm. Interesting that your mom's middle name is the same way, though!
