It's called synesthesia.

I have a few that I connect to random things- though not always sounds or colours.

Most of these connections, I can't explain at all.

Miller is an eggshell colour.
Alaric -knights
Trygve -chess
Tarquin -for some reason, I can never picture this name without picturing infant triplets.
Satchel -Eating under a covered shelter on a cloudy-rainy day.
Murray -fat, grey cat. (But I LOVE the name Murray.)
Leandro -buskers
Borna -slavery, but mostly the gladiator kind.
Denver -a small museum here in town which makes no sense because on the east coast.
Ezra -classic books or dusty library.
Matvey -spies or spy movies and that chase scene theme music and some Buddy Holly glasses.

Kate is always hot pink or magenta.
Anneliese -castle walls
Viatrix -fox
Gretel -An old, loved teddy bear.
Araminta -Tiny, cozy room.
Mehetabel -a garbage can in an alley. (Despite that, I like the name.)
Kenna -warm coffee in a mug
