What about Rosemarie instead of Rosalie or Rosemary? ROSE ma REE. I think it is flowier than Rosemary.

I'm honestly not impressed with flying as an inspiration for naming a girl Piper. My husband is a pilot and flew a Piper Cherokee and then a Comanche. I think naming our daughter Piper after the planes would be not unlike naming her Cessna or Beechcraft. It'd be more meaningful, actually, to name her One Two Whisky. ;-)

Planes aside, I don't really like Piper as a name. I think it tries too hard to be spunky and glam ... and it's really kind of ugly.

However, it's my opinion that middle names can be pretty much whatever you want, as long as they pass the "would I like to have this as my own name" test, and how they combine with a first name is of no consequence at all, as long as there isn't a pun or a phrase or embarrassing initials.
