I had a friend who named her baby Jacob. She was planning to call him Jake, but sadly he was born prematurely and died, so it never happened that a nickname was necessary. I tried to tell her that she should find another name because Jacob is so popular, but she just didn't care how popular it is! There's just no understanding non-namenerds sometimes.
