I think I may have figured out why I hate Mason so much. About forty years ago, there was a child actor named Mason Reese who appeared on a lot of commercials and I remember him being a guest on "The Mike Douglas Show". He was cute, in a way, and that's why he was on commercials, but he was cute in a very homely way. He was actually ugly, and you can't say that about too many children. And by Googling him, I've discovered that he's grown into a mighty unattractive man (and I don't like judging people on their looks and I don't do it too often, but man he is unattractive, I just can't help saying it.) I think his image has been floating around my subconscious every time I hear Mason. So it just makes me think of ugliness.
