You figured it would fall off and be replaced by other names?
You can't second guess stuff like that, just because you kept hearing those other names, because that was only relevant to the area you are in. You don't know what all the other people are naming their children across this HUGE country of ours!
There are positives to having a popular/well-known name, plenty of them. Having a lesser used, or a rare name, isn't always what it's cracked up to be.
I love my name; Betsabé, which is a Spanish name. However, it goes without saying, that it is constantly misspelled, mispronounced and because people aren't familiar with it, I just know some people must assume it's "made up".
It does get annoying to constantly have to correct the same people, over and over again, as to the pronunciation of my name.
As I said, I love it, but sometimes I think it would easier being called something like Maria or Sarah!
