I'm happy to see that someone likes the name Dick. I think that this happiness springs from the fact that I had an uncle named Dick. Really Richard, but he was always called Dick. And whenever I happened to mention his name, it would be met with snickering. And I'd think, "Yes, I know that dick is a slang term. You know that dick is a slang term. I understand that Dick is unusable these days. But surely you are intelligent enough to know that this was not always true, and knowing my age, you can surmise what age my uncle must be, and fully understand that he was given this name before it had a slang meaning attached to it, and thus refrain from your childish giggling?" It's made me a little defensive about Dick.
