For me, it must be the initial sound, because I like Zoe. I've heard some people say that Chloe is cutesy and childish and that they can't imagine it on an eighty-year-old woman, but I don't agree with that. I don't find either Chloe or Zoe cutesy or childish and I can easily see either one on an eighty-year-old woman. But I like Zoe and dislike Chloe. I find Chloe cloying, but not Zoe.
