No, Shannon is a unisex name. It's a place name, so it's "legitimately" unisex. It is more common for girls (at least in the US), but I've known several male Shannons too. Not a problem.

Also this is not a writing board. Unless specified, nobody here is talking about characters. If you want opinions on names for characters that's okay here, otherwise you should go to the writing board.
