It's possible, he's not super close with his brother, although they get along fine. He says the problem is mostly just that it's weird to have two with the same name around (which I do agree with... we have an Elijah "Eli" and an Elias "Eli" in my family too), mostly so for their mother, and I guess Bill did go by Will/William when he was a kid.

That happened in my family. I have a great-uncle named Ross and that's also my brother's name. My mom liked her uncle just fine, but my brother wasn't named after him. They just really liked the name. She said people all asked or assumed my brother had been named after her uncle though.
