favorite spellingHAY-lee: Haley
KAY-lee: Kaylee
CAR-lee: Carly
KATE-linn: Caitlin
KAY-linn: none
AL-i-sen: Alison
JAY-den: Jadon
KAY-den: Caden
HAY-den: Hayden
AY-den: Aidan
KATH-rinn: Catherine
bree-ANN-a: Brianna. I prefer Briana, but I pronounce it differently.
ZO-ee: Zoe
Mak-AY-la: Michaela
MAD-eh-linn: Madeleine. Not how it's pronounced in French, I know, but MAD-eh-lin would fly in English. Which other spellings of these names do you find tolerable?KATE-linn: Kaitlyn, Kaitlyn, Katelyn
AL-i-sen: Allison
JAY-den: Jaden
KAY-den: Kaden
KATH-rinn: Katharine, Katherine. I don't even mind Kathryn, tbh.
Mak-AY-la: Micaela
MAD-eh-linn: Madelyn, because at least the pronunciation is clear. Madeline is okay, too, but I'd never use it because I hate MAD-eh-lien. If you met anyone with these names, how would you assume they were spelled?HAY-lee, KAY-lee, KATE-linn, KAY-den, AY-den, KATH-rinn, MAD-eh-linn: I'd ask.
CAR-lee: Carly
KAY-linn: Kay Lynn or Kay-lynn. It's a mess of a name, imo.
AL-i-sen: Alison or Allison
JAY-den: Jayden
HAY-den: Hayden
bree-ANN-a: Brianna
ZO-ee: Zoe. I like to pretend the other spellings don't exist.
Mak-AY-la: MakaylaAre there any spellings of these names you really hate? Or any endings, letter combinations you really hate and why?I dislike the spellings I haven't listed. I hate the -leigh ending, any C- spelling of Kaylee, when Haydn is supposed to be pronounced like Hayden, Alison spellings involving Y, all spellings of Michaela that include "kayla," and any spelling that's just off-the-wall, awkward, and/or cumbersome, such as Kaytlinne, Zohee, or Maddalen. How people with these names have you known? Approximate age? Siblings?
Multiples of every one in various ages except Kay Lynn. The closest I've come to that is Kayleen. Do you like any of them? Would you use them?
I love Catherine, which I'd use, and Alison, which is my name. I like Hayden, Aidan, Caitlin, Zoe, Briana (bree-AH-na), Michaela, and Madeleine, but not enough to use them as first names. I think Carly would be a cute nickname for Caroline, Carla, Charlotte, or Carlotta, but I don't like it on its own.
