Vergunda might be of Germanic origin - I'm guessing Dutch? I know that Afrikaans is derived from Dutch.

I've never seen Vergunda before, but I share your suspicions! The -gunda bit would be 'war", I think, but I don't know about Ver- as a Germanic element. If it was from Latin, she'd have been a multicultural Truth Warrior which is an interesting thought.
