I think of a tall, middle-aged woman who wears glasses and no make-up and wears her hair pinned up and is a little frumpy. This is because the only Evelyn I've ever known was the mother of a middle-school friend of mine (not that I called her Evelyn, but I knew that's what her name was), and that's exactly what she was like.

I guess it's not dated now. It was when I was in middle school, but now it's fairly popular, I think.

It has that frumpy middle-aged feel to me and for that reason I'm not too fond of it.
