I like Scarlett a lot.

I prefer Scarlett to Scarlet...it looks more complete and 'namier'

I never noticed the 'scar' thing until I came to these boards...it doesn't bother me.

I think Scarlett Brown is fine. Brown is such a common last name that it doesn't really register that it is a colour when I hear it in the context of a name. Scarlett is also very namey which makes it not so bad. It isn't like you're considering Gray Brown or Blue Brown...more unusual colour names would definitely be more of a problem.
