I pretty much agree with you-- love the goddess and really like the name. I'd use it IRL as a middle name (it's one of my top middle name choices for a girl), but I probably wouldn't use it as a fn. I'd love to meet a little Artemis though. The problem is nicknames: Art/Artie sounds like an old man, Missy is too princessy and spoiled sounding. Misty is a stretch. Aris? Ara? Ari? Temis? Maybe, but will any of those come naturally to people wanting to shorten her name? Hmm....
