If I heard of a girl being named Mason or Harrison, I would wonder why her parents gave her that name, but it wouldn't bother me. Once I learned that it was tradition, I would think to myself, "Huh. That's interesting", and order a cocktail (this scene takes place at a fancy Southern garden party in my mind.)

If my parents did that, I would have gotten off easy: my mother's maiden name was Colby. It sounds just girly enough to pass.
