No, I wouldn't. I'm avoiding the name David for that very reason. He left my grandmother for his girlfriend, and my poor nanny had to raise five kids by herself. I met him only once, on his deathbed, and as much as my mom forgave him and my grandma still loved him, it just doesn't feel right to use his name, even if I like his name. I'd much rather honour someone I love(d) dearly than someone who caused my family a lot of pain and heartache. I don't hold anything against the guy (I barely knew him), but I wouldn't want to give my child that kind of namesake either.
