Sightings
Some recent sightings I found intriguing, for you to muse upon:Agnes Gertrude "Annie"
Alberic - a mn
Bede - also a mn
Edgar
Igor
Ivan - prn ee-VAHN
Paola
Persephone - I was so excited when I learned her name, I told a friend. His response: "What is that? Some sort of mash up of Peter and Stephanie?"
Philippine
Victor

Ooh, lots of neat stuff! Too bad Bede was only a mn, but still! And I really like Agnes Gertrude... too bad she went by Annie. I really like Philippine too, my husband has a great-great-great(?) grandmother by that name.Once I'd mentioned Persephone and my mom had no idea what it was, either. Weird, I figured most people have heard of that name.

I'm guessing these are not all babies? I can't imagine a baby named Agnes Gertrude, although I personally like both names I can't imagine someone choosing to pair two names that are considered "ugly" in this day and age. (Unless of course these sightings are from somewhere other than an English speaking country?)Alberic is a neat middle name, I've got a soft spot for Albert and this is just a bit more masculine feeling. Bede is such a cool name, great middle name. I really like Ivan and Victor and would consider using them. Edgar is handsome too, but I wouldn't use it.

None of them are babies. Most are in their 20s or 30s.
Agnes Gertrude is about twenty. I was surprised by the combination of "ugly" names too though I must admit I like it.

I'm very happy to see:Bede -although I'm not a huge fan, it's great to see it used
Igor -very common here, but I'm happy to see it elsewhere
Ivan - ditto
Philippine -I like this much better than Phillipa to get the nickname Pippa
